Scott L. Morgensen

Scott L. Morgensen is Associate Professor in the Department of Gender Studies at Queen’s University. As an ethnographer and historian of queer /trans social movements, Morgensen theorizes relationships among heteropatriarchy, white supremacy, settler colonialism and empire in response to intellectual leadership within Indigenous and critical race studies. He is the author of Spaces between Us: Queer Settler Colonialism and Indigenous Decolonization, which received the 2012 Ruth Benedict Prize “Honorable Mention” from the Association for Queer Anthropology; and co-editor of Queer Indigenous Studies (2011). He serves as co-Editor of Journal of Critical Race Inquiry and on the advisory boards of American Quarterly, Decolonization, and Settler Colonial Studies.
